Carol Canhisares

Carol Canhisares is a Brazilian-American actress based in Barcelona, Spain. Since returning to the industry in 2022, she has been building a diverse body of work across film, television, theatre, and voice.

Her recent screen credits include the lead role in What If?, directed by Krishna Jaipuriya and selected for the Lift-Off Global Network Sessions 2026, El gran salto (Atresplayer, Ep. 5), directed by Roger Guall, and the award-selected short film Edges (2023), directed by Júlia Faria and Giulia Levy, which has been selected for six international film festivals, including Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival, RIFF Awards, and In the Palace International Short Film Festival.

On stage, Carol co-wrote and stars in Sex Therapy, a sharp and heartfelt comedy about relationships and intimacy, with versions in both Spanish and English. In October 2026, she will premiere Bailando con tumbas, the Spanish adaptation of Georgina Tremayne’s Dancing on Graves, a dark comedy-drama exploring grief, death, and friendship, in which she plays the lead role of Freya.

Fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and Catalan, Carol is known for her vibrant energy, emotional truthfulness, and collaborative spirit. She brings warmth, vulnerability, presence, and a strong commitment to every project she joins.

When she’s not acting, Carol continues to explore storytelling through writing. Her debut book, The Quantum Physics Diet: How to Achieve and Maintain the Body (and the Life) of Your Dreams, explores self-awareness, transformation, and the relationship between our inner world and the lives we create.
